Lhasa (Tibet)

Um 5:30h holt uns das Taxi zum Weiterflug nach Lhasa ab. Wir sind doch sehr müde weil wir nicht sehr gut geschlafen haben. Die sonst so hektische Stadt Peking ist ruhig und auch die Straßen sind leer. Eine Dunstwolke liegt über der Stadt und die Straßen sind feucht, die Luft ist kühl und angenehm. Nachdem wir etwas Zeit haben bis zum Checkin in der Maschine, essen wir unser packed Breakfast. Wir merken die Zeitverschiebung, der Flug liegt für Europäische Zeit gegen 2:00 nachts. Mal sehen, wie es in Lhasa wird.

Nach der Zwischenlandung in Chongqing erreichen wir um14h Lhasa. Der Kopf klingelt – wir merken die Höhe (3650m). Wir treffen unseren Guide, der Start in Tibet  lässt sich gut an – bis auf die höhenbedingte „Rasierschaumexplosion“ im Kulturbeutel :–o  naja, dann halt mit Bart.

Fuer gutes Karma laufen wir einmal im Uhrzeigersinn um den Jokhang. Der Pilgerweg rund um den Tempel ist voller Verkaufsstände (es gibt alles, von Yakhaardecken, über gefälschte Uhren bis zu Ritualgegenständen), Pilger aller Couleur umrunden kontinuierlich das Gebäude, die meisten zu Fuß, einige jedoch werfen sich kontinuierlich nieder.

Räucherfeuer brennen, der Rauch steigt auf in den blauen Himmel. Die Sonne brennt und taucht die Szene in ein hartes Licht. Lhasa in den ersten Stunden präsentiert sich als eine kuriose Mischung aus chinesischer Stadt mit extrem viel Polizei- / Militärpräsenz und Tibet traditionell/modern. Der Pilger von heute murmelt Mantras und zaehlt die Gebetskette runter und hat in der anderen Hand ein Handy.
